Just want to share a few pictures of my new crews job in progress. They are a bit messy compared to my other boys but there work is pretty good.

Gorgeous curves, I REALLY like a bullnosed cap. The border accent really looks sharp too. Now I know where to set my bar of standards.

Nice work as usual Z. I don't care for the gaps in the radius though. I would had more cuts.

The cuts are within 1/2" so thats good in my book. You see the problem with making all your gaps tight is that you have to make ALL your gaps tight, on a job like that with the amount of cutting the boys had it was just fine. There comes a time when you have to question how tight they really need to be.

I thought I would give it a try since we use it all the time for pool coping. I love the look, and will likely work it in a design again.

Here are a few more pictures from our first pool we did this year. Fence is now in and the yard is resodded. Landscaping will wait a year. Pavers are Mega Bergerac with regular bergerac track and bull nose coping. We used thinset mortar and glue to help bond it permanently. The old guy loves doing this stuff.

We had the pool installer do it. Crappy job but we worked it out.

Stellar job on both designs! Your guys are lucky to get to work on such creative projects.....and to use muck trucks all day!

Where's the boulder in the pool job? There's gotta be one cut in there somewhere!

Its there, we used it as the diving board. I will get a close up of it next time I get around there.

Zedo - How is the quality on the Belgard products these days?

I guess you mean Permacon. The mega bergerac is fine, the trafalgar is going in this week so I can't comment on that one just yet. I have heard they have taken some measures to improve the quality of the celtik block but I won't chance it though until I know for sure. I will lay one or two layers but a large wall, forget it. I have been selling mostly unilock and some techo. When it comes to building walls I will go with roman pisa or escala.

Awesome work Zedo!!!

" We used thinset mortar and glue to help bond it permanently. "

Can you comment on the above in reference to bullnose coping on pool? You used both, thinset and glue? Would not thinset be more than strong enough? I am confused as to how and why you would use both.:noidea:

The glue gives me peace of mind especially when I have someone standing on the edge of my diving board. Its just the way I like to do things, no more than that!

That is a 42" bucket and it digs very nice in clay, makes for a smooth bottom. We also use it to fill our trucks at the shop or the hydraulic wheelbarrow etc. It is basically the same size as a bobcat 453 bucket. I also have a 30" tooth bucket for the extra tough digs or stump removal.

This is our 4th day now, from bare ground to completion of approx. 700sq.ft. and walls. Today we laid the patio and finsihed all the cutting, it was a long day but a good day.

Its a kx-91. I put a 350lb counter weight on the underside of the ex. Very stable with a full load at reach. The counter weight is what they use with the kx 121 extension arm.

Roman pisa wall is built that way, its hard to tell but the ground slopes down and with soil, and shrubs it will not be visible. I really couldn't of gone lower since it was designed as a seat wall. I could of used Brussels Dimensional but wasn't interested in cutting every block. I want to try their new "estate" double sided block but it isn't available just yet.

We use coarse grain sand for the pavers, not more than 1 maybe 1-1/4" inch. For the walls we use a 1/4" stone dust, less powder than reg. stone dust.

Out of 7 of us there is only one that needs to get motivated, but we are working on that, its just a matter of finding the right job for him.

As you can see my expertise is not in softscaping but it really made the job come alive. The owner is working on the deck to bring it down a level or two. That will really bring the patio in perspective.

I considered going stone but I know that bed will be expanded in the near future and thought the mulch would work best. Your right though I cheaped out at the last moment and worked in the mulch. :noidea:

I don't mind the mulch....if that's what the homeowner likes.....who cares. I personally dislike black dyed mulch, but I put it down on 80% of plantings cuz it's what they want. All mulch is green at the end of the day.....we can't be purists all the time.

Zedo, everything looks awesome! Plants looks great...you made it work within the budget...and that's what counts. I love how you have the boulders spilling down into that little bed with the step jumping all the way across. You are definitely the anti-cookie cutter!! I'd love the chance to render one of your dynascape designs one day......even if just for fun!

You hit the nail on the head there Adam. "budget" was the word I heard about 20 times when I priced this one. I put this one together in one evening and managed to squeeze it in my busy schedule for a big party they are holding in June. Thanks for the feedback, it really helps to hear both positive and negative feedback.

Here is another pool project we will be starting next week. Pool was installed 2 days ago and the sub deck is going in tomorrow. Fullnose coping around pool, with 1700sq.ft. brussels block with offset border and 2' track around the coping. Only one step but a few boulders just for fun. Front yard will be done at the same time I'm hoping.

I know this an old job Andy but I have a few questions. First did you tie the wall into the columns on the seating wall?Second on the 4 inch block did you have to cut any of it to achieve the radius in those walls.

Columns were built first and then the walls, yes we had to make some cuts. Today they have a tapered unit which would of saved some time for sure.
