I'm Todd / tthomass / young buck / young'n and 23yrs old. Grew up on a farm in southern VA and graduated from Virginia Tech with an associates degree in Landscape and Turf Mgmnt in 2004. Did an internship at TruGreen and learned what 'landcare' was vs 'landscape'. Luckily the manager was too busy being promoted to call me back and I went with a big design build company in northern VA. I worked there for 8 months and went to another design build company for 1 1/2 yrs.

September of 2005 I bought my first truck, began getting licensing and Mother's Day of 2006 I went full time when I no longer was in agreement with the company I was working for.

I was told I would be 'stupid' to start my own business and looking back over the past 1 1/2yrs I'd say I'm doing okay.:)

Welcome Stupid, I mean Todd. Seriously, welcome to the site.

Are you predominantly installing hardscapes?

No I'm not. I mostly do Bobcat work and planting installations (design/build). I do not do a lot of hardscapes and looking to do a lot more in 2008. I did just sell one but its only a front walk. I met with the customer, walked through the layout, showed them pictures of work I've done and sold it at $65 SF :). I was a mason at the two companies I used to work for and the all around 'go to' guy.

I am ICPI and NCMA certified but since going on my own I've done about 400SF of pavers haha.

I do want and do plan to get more into hardscapes heavily. At the moment though, I'm doing great in comparison......its just what I'm good at. Not that I'm not good at hardscapes, I am.....I just have so much of the 'other' work filling my schedule.

Not to mention the hours I spend tutoring Chris over the phone each day..........kinda ties me up you know?
