Mailbu Rocks!!!

We had a customer ruin a nice Creta wall we did last summer with that crap.

We've used Vista exclusively so far, though I would like to try Kichler. They have some neat fixtures.

We have been using CAST this year in conjunction with Integral Lighting for our knee wall and pillar applications. If you haven't checked them out, I suggest you do so. The ease of installation is killer. No more drilling and anchors!
The main reason we switched to CAST is that I was tired of giving customers a book containing 1000 fixtures and then having to answer 20 questions about fixtures I have never seen before. CAST has 7 or 8 lights all in cast bronze....thats it! 3 path light choices(big, small), 3 up light choices, a wall washer and a moon lighter...done! IMO, the less options you give your customer the better. It saves confusion and headaches in the future, plus I like the hub system.

we use focus and or nitescaping. mainly the nitescaping transformer, its bomb proof and has a lifetime warranty. we have never needed to replace on though.

We are distributors for Focus, Integral and Malibu. Integral light have been a huge seller ever since we brought them in. Focus has a very nice line of cast brass lights, but as stated above the selection is kind of confusing. Malibu...well you guys know about Malibu.

I use exclusively Unique Lighting Products. I have been doing landscape lighting since the early eighties. I have used most brands and after time started using Unique and have not had a problem since.

I use Cast for two main reasons......

1)Like Chris,I do not want to drive myself crazy showing the customer 5 different catalogs and hundreds of lights. Fixtures are heavy duty, solid bronze and made with top notch components.

2)I love the idea of the spider splice and how it works....I just do not run into any problems. Also, their fixtures come with 25' leads.

This is an old thread, but has anyone tried out FX Luminaire? Several contractors around here swear by them. The few that I have installed, the homeowner doesn't want to pay top dollar for a quality light. Usually during the estimate I get, "If I go to (insert big box store name) and buy the Malibu kit will you install it"?

I am just now getting into lighting and trying to learn everything. I have chosen Unique to start out with b/c i firmly believe in thier products from what i have seen and read. I also am using them for simplicity sake. If you have seen their book, it only has about 15-20 different fixtures. It makes it easy to learn everything about your fixtures and memorize them. I feel that when you know the exact fixture that your customer is refering to, it gives them a certain level of confidence rather than fumbling through 1000 images just to say, huh, yeah, i like that one too.

I have not used them yet, but,I will give them a shot on my next install. I have seen them in person. They are nice, they are bronze and supposedly, they do not get that white stuff on them right after installation, like Cast bronze lights. Also, they come with a 25' lead which I am a big fan of. On a side note, they are also less expensive than cast which adds up on a large install.:)

I have used kitchler, hadco, fx , focus, and a few others.
really like the fx and focus brands.
When it comes to customers, I'll pick the lights for them.(most of the time!)

depends on the look of the fixture, i pull from kitchler, lightcraft east, and unique.

I feel CAST has the highest quality fixtures out there. However, we use Focus 90% of the time unless a customer specifically requested a brand name (very rare). And also Integral lights of course (love that demo kit! Thanks Allied!). But Focus offer a powder coated fixture and brass fixtures that are well built for about $50-70 a fixture (brass is more obviously), but most customers aren't willing to spend $100 a fixture. Focus is a nice median. Focus also has a 6 connection "spider" splice, and can be ordered with 25 ft leads for equal power distribution.

Anyone had any success or failure with "snoc" landscape lighting?? They are available at a local lighting supplier and would like input if possible. Its a canadian co. so maybe someone from up here has used them?
