My favorite company "Trow & Holden" just came out with this. I cant wait to try it.

It’s not even the smashing of the fingers that bothers me, but if I'm using the chisels all day it's the vibration that damages you hands and joints. The rubber piece reduces it greatly.

i like the air chisel my self when i can use it. not good for the finer details, but awesome for anything else that needs a chisel and hammer.

im not familiar with anything like it. do they offer that in a stone hammer head.how does it absorb shock? the head cant just sit on the stick, so the handle must run thru it, right? im wondering how then the rubber helps.

From the picture I guess it looks like a striking chisel. Its not, its just a tracer chisel. Trow and holden make different caliper chisels most are really beefy and carbide tipped. The wooden handle and rubber piece just puts a firm grip on the chisel which IMO gets safer, harder, and more accurate hits. My favorite thing is that it absorbs a lot of the "shock" you get in your hands from using a chisel all day.

yeah i wasnt sure.your right. that probably is very effective.may take a little getting used to though. i like FEEING the chisel on the stone. you know what i mean?

thats one of those, "duh?!! why didn't i think of this before" inventions. that totally will keep the carple tunnel at bay.
