I HAVE A NEW EDGE RESTRAINT (DIFFERENT THAN OUR OLD RESTRAINTS). WE ACTUALLY FOUND A WAY TO MANUFACTURE A RESTRAINT THAT IS STRONGER, LASTS LONGER, CONNECTS EASIER WITH A CLIP THAT COMES WITH IT, DOESN'T CAUSE BROWN GRASS ON THE EDGES, DOESN'T DETERIORATE, KEEPS LINES STAIGHT FOR YEARS!, MAKES RIGHT ANGLES AND TIGHT CURVES, ONLY ONE PART, IS CHEAPER (THAN MOST OTHERS), AND MAKES NICE SMOOTH BENDS WITH A NICE WIDE BASE TO NAIL IN PLACE EASILY. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, I'LL SEND SAMPLES FOR NO CHARGE. IT'S SELLING GREAT IN THE U.S., CANANDA AND EUROPE! EMAIL ME AT AARON.MACDONALD@PERMALOC.COM TO TRY IT. IT IS, WITHOUT A DOUBT, "THE BEST RESTRAINT ON THE MARKET" (IF YOU TRY IT, YOU'LL SEE WHAT I MEAN". ASK YOUR LOCAL DISTRIBUTORS FOR BRICK BLOCK, IF THEY DON'T CARRY IT, I'LL SEND IT DIRECT FOR ABOUT $1.25/FOOT DELIVERED.
THANKS,
AARON

Yes, if you're interested....go to www.permaloc.com to see all of our products. Let me know if you want to try it our and I'll send you a sample. I've found that once the installer uses it, I don't need to say anything else. The price is right and it's "The best product on the market".

Thanks for the comment. If you haven't seen Brick Block, you have to check it out. The price is right and you can forget everything you knew about 1st generation aluminum products....this one is "The best edge restraint on the market". It's a great selling point for the customer...especially if you stand behind your work...you'll feel a lot better about how long the pavers will stay where they should when you use Brick Block.
Thanks again!

Is this aluminum restraint
yes, and im not bitin'. ive seen other metal edging and once it kinks and gets a bend, thats it. i cant speak for this stuff though. if Zedo likes it, im sure its good.im curious as to how easy it is wack those thin stakes into the base without bending.

I've just had a look at Permaloc's website and I realized the stuff I am talking about is sold at our permacon supplier, it is called "permapro", not "permaloc". :embarassed: I haven't been able to find a website on it, but I was impressed with the sidewall thickness and ability to bend. I cannot comment on permaloc's product other than to say I know the product and it looks to be very beefy compared to the brick stop I used to use. Now its not to say that "permaloc's" product doesn't curve the way I would like it too, I just need to try it first to make a real judgement.

Thanks for all of the emails, I love to hear from everyone that has seen our product and all of you who want to. Please don't hesitate to write. I thought I would share of few of the highlights of our product and reasons why it is simply "The Best Paver Restraint in the World". We developed by asking what contractors did and didn't like about restraints...we listened and invented Brick Block! Here are some of the things we addressed.
(1.) They didn't like that aluminum didn't make smooth curves..."We fixed that"
(2.) They didn't like the narrow base..."We fixed that...it won't tip over and it has a wider/more sturdy base"
(3.) It has always been too expensive..."we fixed that...and with a little help from oil companies...plastics have been getting more expensive and the quality of most plastics companies have gone down hill by cutting corners."
(4.) Contractors didn't want to have to butt corners together (causing a loss in sand from run-off and making the bricks along the corners and edges tip over time)..."we fixed that...you can bend Brick Block into a right angle, keeping sand where it belongs and strenthening the area with the most stress (the corners).
(5.) Contractors wanted an easy connection system that wouldn't be effected by dirt and mud..."we fixed that with our quick clip connection system".
(6.) Most importantly, contractors didn't like re-work and wanted a stronger restraint that will keep the pavers where they put them, BrickBlock doen't expand and contract like plastic, crack like plastic or warp like plastic does over time..."we fixed that too".
(7.) Our contractors in the North didn't like the way plastic becomes brittle in the cold and the contactors in the South said plastic warps in the sun (some even have warning labels...do not store in sunlight!).
(8.) Homeowners didn't like that their grass turned brown along the edges of some thick plastic restraints..."not with BrickBlock"...grass will flourish due to deeper soil backfills with the strong narrow profile of aluminum.
(9.) Distributors and Contractors like the fact that you can carry 320 feet under your arm (only 68lbs and you have 40 eight foot sections!).
(10.) Other benefits are that there is only one part (no need to worry how many straights and curves to order)...The wider base prevents it from falling over with the slightest breeze... You can cut around irrigation heads with two simple snips instead of wrestling with a hacksaw or torch... Place bricks inside or outside of restraint.
(11.) One guy can make the curves (inside or out..."by himself")...this is a big labor saver, pay attention to the ICPI training video (3 men to make a bend with a section of plastic!...what a waste of labor!)...You can set up the framework without nailing anything into place, show the customer what you are about to do (all before cutting any block...prevents wasting block or upsetting the customer because they will know what it will look like before going any farther...if they don't like it, simply bend and reshape it and you're back in business!).
There are lots of other reasons to use Brick Block "The Worlds Best Paver Edging", but I think you get the point...try it and you'll see what I mean.
