Any of you PA guys know anyone around the western PA border that has bulk salt for sale? We are at a point where we may have no other choice but to send out some triaxles and buy some out of state due to our shortage. We are about an an hour west of the PA border. Thanks.

Have a huge salt place here in MN, Morton Salt, but will not sell to any one else except the DOT. Said there is a shortage world wide. With all the snow that everyone has been getting.

Well our bin is officially empty after today's icestorm and we only have 8 yards between our two salt trucks for weight when plowing.
Chris,
No I havn't heard of them. Where are they out of?
Koot,
Some guys around here are on crack if they're paying that much. I went to a guy yesterday who had no idea there was a shortage and he wanted $8.90 for a 50 pounder of regular rock salt. I laughed in his face. Arms Trucking out of Newbury who supplies us got his license to purchase salt taken from him this past week after he was caught delivering salt to some of his bigger private contractor customers. We were scheduled to get 25 yards which is a small load but they cancelled due to this. I've talked to a few local service departments that can't even get it. Not sure if you've heard of Reiable out of Macedonia but he's the only guy around here who keeps getting deliveries. I think someones gonna report him because we all think he's writing someone down at the mines a 6-figure sum to get it exclusively. It's gettin fuggin ridiculous.
jreiff,
Our two local mines (Morton & Cargill) both won't sell to private contractors. Only counties and ODOT. Municipalities aren't even receiving deliveries anymore.
SzotAllied,
You guys are a little farther than we'd like to go. Several hours in a tri-axle can be exhausting. We will consider it though.
Thanks for all the help guys.
