I'm thinking I need a hobby.....wait.....no, a hobby that is still work! Does anyone engrave stone? House numbers, family names, etc. I like Trow & Holden products and I have my eye on the air chisel engraving kit. Is it something you can pick up fast? I know nothing about it, can anyone share details?

Captain, there is a local distributor here that offers engraving services.
We used them a couple years back on a volunteer project. We volunteered to procure pavers and assist with the installation of a paver walkway on a military academy campus. It was a lot of fun.
The cadets raised money to pay for the materials by donating bricks to alumni, parents, etc. Each donor received a brick installed with their name engraved.

I've seen a few projects like that, I think Pavestone does it as well. I was talking about granite engraving for light posts, steps, and mailbox posts. Doesn’t seem like numbers would be very hard, especially with a air powered chisel.

Some people keep telling me i should engrave a big 'R' in a stone one every job. I think that is way tacky.
But who knows, clothing companies make billions just putting their logo on shirts!
