How many of you guys would like to see your manufacturer of choice come out with a thin cut veneer to match their wall block?

I know I would.

It would be nice, but they would most likely rather sell ya a full block and have you chop it up!

That's what I'd like to avoid!

I believe EP has a veneer. Is this not what you are looking for?

They have one, but as far as I know, it isn't a match for the dry laid wall block.

Do they manufacturer a thin cut veneer that matches their wall block?

They list it as a masonary wall 3 5/8" deep harvest blend, dakota, and pewter blend. You are correct the veneer is only avail in chardonnay and pa field stone. There is a seminar at Main Line Concrete on the 15th maybe they will have new blends. Seems kind of silly.

3 5/8" deep isn't thin cut by any means. I'm talking about a thin cut veneer that matches, say Coventry Wall 3" and 6" in all colors.

I would definetely be interested, I would gladly pay extra for it considering the time I waste cutting my own veneers and not to mention the blade wear! Something we all need to bring to the attention of our reps.

Absolutely my man. That's why I keep raising the topic.

agreed. Techo has a line of veneer, but it doesn't match their block.

We used Cultured stone brand Buck's County Limestone as a best case match for Earth Brown Quarry Stone.

why would you want a coventry wall thin veneer?because it takes no talent to build? no no no!!!!! remember that GOD aweful Devon stone that cost as much as flagstone , didnt look like flagstone, and just sucked in every way?any new enemies yet? i do know what you guys are saying,it has its place and a client might want it, but theyre just crushing up stone-to put into a cement batch -to pour it into a mold that looks like the stone they just crushed up.there are HUNDREDS of available stones to complement your pavers.learn the art of stone masonry and you wont be so quick to lean towards a system that barely justifies the cost. my 2 cents. there i feel better.

You lost me a little bit there Steveo. What does learning the art of stone masonry have to do with a matching veneer? One of my foreman is a mason and we use natural/manufactured stone, wet/dry apps.

However, I still find a handful of jobs every year where we are capping a porch, installing a walkway and splitting/sawing the faces off of block because the customer wants the veneer to match the other applications. Say the walkway has a steps. The app. is a dry app. and you want the veneer on the proch to match the steps instead of introducing a third product. Just one example.

oh ok, i understand what youre saying. i havent encountered that problem yet. i have usually stuccoed risers near a stoop,or a prch face to match the stucco on the house rather than apply a concrete veneer to match. a complimenting stucco works quite well, and distinguishes the steps.but i see where a product like that may come in use. im just anti paver yet i install pavers.
stone the world. Steveo

That veneer would work nice when you couldn't add 2 3/8 to an existing pad to create a tripper. In this case it would have to be exacto.
