How long should concrete cure before you can drill and glue rebar for joining. Unfortunately setting them in wet was not an option and am trying to see if I can get away with it sooner than later. Standard 4000 psi 28 day mix.

What is the intended purpose of the rebar? What are you building on the footer?

Pillars with a pergola on top. I cant find the permit info right now but this is basically what was signed off on. This is my first glue in by the way i've only built with wet installs prior.

I've always driven them in while the concrete is still wet also. Perhaps drill deeper than the 8" and go 12"+ if you can. I would drill sooner than later while the concrete is still in the initial curing phase. I would think things would bind up better.

Thanks. I had my guy drill them today. Glad we did they were hard enough as it was. I had a heck of a time getting all the dust out though. Hitting it with 120 psi air only worked so well. got them down 12" except one that was 8" cause we hit a spot we could not get through. I may try to crack it up with a spike.
We've got a blower nozzle modified with a piece of tubing for blowing out drill holes when we are splitting granite, you might try to find a piece of tubing for your nozzle the next time you need to get the dust out. ;)
