Does anyone have any better information on this kit? All I can find is the attached diagram. I’m trying to decide if I can use this with a natural stone construction. When using SRW blocks, do you glue the caps on top of the spillway body?
Does the plumbing show in the back of the wall???

Looks like its just set in place. Can't see why it wouldnt work with natural materials

Do you think they glue the caps that run over the top of it?

I dont see an overhang that would tie the unit into the srw

I talked to the manufacturer, turns out they don’t want you gluing the caps to the unit. I don’t really understand that. They just want the caps to ‘rest’ on top of the unit!?!?
In my situation I think I can span over the length of the unit with a 5’ tread and mortar on either side. But like you said Chris, there is no lip or overhang to keep this thing in place. I sent the Product Manager an email asking for specifics. I’ll report back as to what they recommend.

you know how you would span across a grill or fire place opening? same concept is to be used. a piece of steel to take the weight off the weir glass.
As for glueing then its to the steel.
The plumbing will show with out proper placement of the whole thing or w/o a little addition to the back to cover it.5977

5981 this is one we did for a little fall show. the caps are resting on the glass but hopefully you will be able to see what I meant on spanning across.

Awesome Bruce! Thanks for taking the time to upload the picts, that is very helpful. Do you like the product? What do you do with it during the winter? I wouldn’t image you need to pull the pump and basin right?

I and the people going through love it. Very easy to work with. I would pull the pump in the winter and get all water out of the weir to be safe. There is an opening under the filter in the 3rd pic to access the pump.

Good to know. I must say I’m surprised by how clear the blue LED is during broad daylight. For $800 it looks like a nice kit, I’ll be sure to post progress picts once I get my hands dirty with the system.

You need to pull the weir if you live in cold climates and if you turn off your pump in the winter do to it freezing. Thats why they do not glue on the caps

I actually installed one of these in Wisconsin two years ago and had a ton of problems figuring out how to make everything accessible to be able to remove the pump. You have to be able to disconnect the pump from the piping and also the electrical cord for the pump. We ended up using 1/4" thick metal strips about 1/2" wide (two of them) to support the caps that had to go over the spillway. Then to make those caps flush with the others we cut grooves in the bottom of the caps so that they sat at the same finish height.
First time is always the hardest. I could probably save half the time today that I did on the first one.
Look is awesome though.
