Just was wondering how many of my fellow hardscapers are snowboard or ski bums.
We went to the Poconos last weekend and are headed up this weekend too. I have a trip to Vermont in jan. planned also that should be pretty awesome.
i have only been doing it for 3 years now, but my wife has been going since she could walk. Wish i had started when i was younger, but just didnt have the time then.

We used to ski and quit about 10 years ago and got into snowmobiling. Sold those a few years ago. With my daughter almost 5, we all bought new skis this fall. We're excited to get back into it.
I thought I wanted to snowboard, but I tried that a few years back, and went down the mountain on my azz. I thought it would be a lot like wakeboarding, which I did quite a bit of, but the two have very few similarities technique-wise

i thought the same thing when i tried snowboarding. i used to surf and skateboard alot when i was a kid, figured it would be a easy transition. that wasn't the case, like u said very few similarities other than standing on some type of board. i thought for sure i was going to kill my self the first couple of times. now i am pretty good at it, only fall when i am goofing off or in the terrain park.

Killington?
Make a trip to NH, we have a ton of great mountains within an hour, the best within two. We'll put you up for night (you buy the pizza)

Mt. Snow on this trip. We went to Killington last year, i was not impressed. it was a little to amusement park like for me. we went to Stowe twice last year too. Stowe is are favorite so far. We have a trip booked in the berkshires that we thought we might shoot up to NH and try the ski there in feb. what mountain do u recommend in NH?
hopefully next year we can get out west, maybe Lake Tahoe.
I ski and board, but haven't done either in three years. I play Ice Hockey on a regular basis. I pretty much love all winter sports! Drunken tubing is a sport right?

Been skiing for about 7 years now. For the past three I've gone to Vail, Breckenridge, and Keystone in Colorado where my brother used to live for president's day weekend. Every once in a while I make it to Holiday Vally in NY because it's not that far but it's not the same as out west. I'd like to try the mountains on the east coast someday too.

i am afraid once i go out west it will ruin anywhere else for me. Vermont has done that for the Poconos already.
