I'm doing a flagstone area around a 15 x 10 square pond and the homeowner wants dwarf mondo grass in the joints. I am a little concerned about that as it gets a good amount of sun and will be surrounded by a concrete patio area that is existing. Any other suggestions?
Thanks David

Creeping Thyme

That is one plant that we had discussed with the HO and LA.
Thanks David

Is it easier to grow moss yourself or can I mail order it. For a bluestone patio we did with 1/2-3/4" joints. I filled the joints with topsoil. If I remember correctly you can use buttermilk and just pour it in the joints?

Just found this anyone ever do it? One way to make a moss garden is to take one cup of plain yogurt and 1 cup of water and a handful of moss and toss it in the blender and make a slurry. Then you can paint the moss slurry on the area where you want to have moss grow. Another mouse making recipe is to mix up 1 quart buttermilk, 1 pint composted manure, and one pint of moss.?????

I've seen the buttermilk mixed with lichens work on boulders.

Didn't Mythbusters do something with moss and buttermilk......?

Gonna have to see if I can find it on Netflix and see what the result was. :D

I watched that one, I think they were rolling the rocks down a hill or something though??? I do remember one of their problems was not grinding up moss fine enough. I've always heard that you want it fine enough to be able to use a tank-sprayer to apply, then keep it moist.
