Here is a set of tiered walls we did a couple of years ago. I finally got out to take some pics. I will have better ones in the Spring as we will be doing the maintenance there.

i'm confused, if it was installed 2-3 years ago, that "big blue" liriope (sp?) should have spread by now?

I really like the contrast of the cap stone and how it plays with the grout of the chimney.

The walls are beautiful, but that must be the worst choice of color for the joints in that veneer (I'm willing to bet you didn’t do the veneer). Is that green cover a septic? If yes how did you handle construction differently?

Big Blue is not a prolific spreader by any means. It does spread, but not like Spicata does.
Capt - We didn't do the veneer. As far as the septic goes, we didn't really do anything different. The pita was getting the existing downspouts past/under the wall

Nice job Chris. Walls look great. Something about the landscape that is hitting a sour note though. Maybe the bedshape.....maybe the gold mops...I'm just not a fan. Walls look great though. Really adds some depths to the front!

Normally i wouldn't have run the bed in front of the bottom wall like we did, but the HO wanted the cleanout in the bed for ease of mowing. What's wrong w/ the goldthreads?

Why didn't you just dig a dry well for the down spouts? I hate seeing the pipe run out like that.

Some people don't want to pay for those things. This was a few years ago, (before you were in business) now we use pop up emitters in those situations.

I'll sometimes just drop a cleanout right in the lawn. Cut the pipe at a 45 and drop some pea gravel. The mower goes right over it and you barely know its there. Beats creating awkward bed space.

Ahhh goldthread cypress....just one of those plants that screams builder special. I don't dislike it, I just prefer the green thread cypress and using it as more of a foundation plant than out in front like that. Something about the beige in the wall and the bright yellow that clashes to me also. Love the weeping blue spruce and the heritage river birch though!

you use pop up emitters for the down spouts>? what do you do for the winter with that>?

Nothing! Use schedule 40 and there is no issue, plus there is a weep hole at the bottom of the emitter that allows water to drain out if it sits too long.
