That does look like a really nice kit. What is the approximate price tag on a kit like this?

This would also be nice for drilling column caps to accommodate pillar light fixtures.

The Adjustable Coring Template is made from heavy duty Nylon, with 3/8" thick aluminum side guides and brass threaded knobs. It is almost impossible to core drill any surface without the bit 'walking' across the face- scratching it up. Fits up to a 6 x 9" paver

The template is easy to use- Mark the location for the light, place the template on top and slide it up/down/left/right until the outline is centered in the template's hole. Tighten the knobs, place the core bit in the hole and begin drilling.

Tip: You can locate a hole anywhere on a large paver, wall cap, or slab by removing the side rails and securing the template in place with duct tape or stepping on it

The template is only needed for the first 10 seconds. We don't recommend drilling right on the sand setting bed, thats messy. A simple fabricated plank with a slightly larger hole works great to hold the paver and allow the core to drop through after drilling. If you drill on a flat surface, theres a good chance of the core getting stuck in the bit.

Drilling times:

Core Drilling Station 30-45 seconds
HD-6 Professional Drill 30 seconds to 1.5 minutes
Hand Held drill & Field Kit (at least 800 to 900 RPM) 1.5 to 2 minutes

Hey any sales pitch that includes duct tape is a little silly if you ask me besides why would you need a template to start drilling a hole??

Having used many core drills, I cant attest to the above fact.

A core bit is a hollow steel tube, with diamond segments welded to the end. It does not have a center point, such as with a hammer drill or conventional wood bit. The Coring Template fits the 2-1/2" diameter core bit perfectly and will allow it to begin cutting smoothly.

When used on smaller pavers..4x4,4x6,6x6, and 6x9 the side rails will hold the template in place. If needing to drill a larger paver, wall cap, or custom work.. blue stone etc. you can use just the Nylon plate. Keep in mind.. your using water..from a garden hose...with an electric drill. Safety first.

Notice the clean, chip free edge on the 4x8's. Also shown is a larger photo of how the Adjustable Coring Template is used to position holes for Paver Lighting- right up to the edge of the paver. Out in the field..it is common to have interchanging patterns, and various sized soldier courses. Adding lighting to the soldier course with a "symmetrical style" square or rectangular paver light can be difficult. A round paver light can be placed anywhere for optimum aesthetic appeal.

The Field Install Kit is improved over the prior ones. We have now included a much heavier duty 1/2" input shaft.
