Dude… I must have banned over 100 people never mind the amount of posts I have deleted. I’m tempted to consider your thread spam…:)

You know Chris, I don't think some folks realize that this site is owned and moderated by guys that get up every morning, put their boots on and go to work just like the members. We provide this site for free. This site isn't owned by a publishing company with a full time staff like L.S. and it is impossible for us to moderate it 24 hours a day.

However, I think we do a pretty damn good job of keeping the spam off the site and maintaining a high level of quality control with regard to the posting on this site. I'm really surprised that the little bit of spam that makes it through for the limited amount of time it does bothers a member enough to start a thread.

Yes. Thanks Mike, I appreciate that. As someone that receives the emails titled “Reported post from Pro Hardscaper.com” I comprehend how much spam enters this site. I always take the time to remove those posts regardless of what project I may be involved in.

On another note, thank you to whom ever reports the spam posts! The help is much appreciated!

I've reported several. ;)

I've also wondered at times how it's possible for so many spammers to get through, but I suppose many of them are not a computer-generated spam and there are actual people registering for the site and then spamming.

If I haven't said it before, thanks for all you mods (and owners!) do!!!!

It's really not that big a deal and like Mike said it is pretty easy to spot it anyway. If you do happen to click on a post then click on their crap and get a virus, well you get what's coming to ya! Enough said IMO

MCB...I understand where you are coming from as it's pretty annoying to us as well. Like the other Mods have said, we do our best. First thing I do in the morning when I wake up is hop on the site and check for spam. Usually before checking my inbox to look at my customer email. If we see spam, it's a two part process for us. We have to delete the 4 or 5 spam posts one at a time, then go into the Mod Panel and find the user and then ban him. It's sometimes a 5 or 10 minute process for each spammer. We don't get paid to do this but do it because we love the site and want it to be enjoyable for everyone.

Like I said, we definitely understand it's annoying at times, but just bare with us and have some empathy for the process.

Here's the a screen shot of the current banned user list. Imagine that times 5 and you'll be close to the amount of spam that we've deleted from the site in the past 2 years.

Think we should change the title of the thread. The mods have their hands full I am sure, least we can do as members is keep the site clean and respectful.
