Where do you guys dispose of your cut pieces, miscellaneous leftovers?
I have been lucky enough to be able to dump our leftovers/scraps at our yard. However, that may change soon.
Same here Mike .. Just lucky.
We have been filling up a property really close to the shop for the last 4 yrs. I talked to a guy in Vancouver and it got so tough for him that he just subbed it all out.
I should add ... we go over with a machine once we cant get any more trucks in and push it in. Usually every week or two depending what jobs are going on.

Is that the "boneyard" you have referred to in the past?

Here in MA every thing is reprocessed. Pay to get rid of it, they make something out of it, and then you buy it back. Or you dig a really big hole and.......

No No... I thought you meant scrap...we have a boneyard with leftovers that are still usable plus I keep a supply of pavers and wall units that we use all the time .... if a job only needs a couple of pallets we take it from there rather than get it delivered to site. ...comes in handy to have a few pallets around if a job got bumped up or something else happens like our supplier running low.

We have a dumpster at our shop. 4 yds costs abt $120 per month to get emptied, 2 x's per month, its inexpensive if you price it into jobs, comes out to about 6 dollars a day. A company by us now is filling in and old quarry so we can now dump a truck load there for about 20 bucks.

Finally, I can post some useful infomation. Diamond materials in Wilmington DE recycles concrete and to dump there is free. I would recommend finding a recycler of concrete and asphalt in your area and then approach them. Or talk to some demolition companies in your area that specialize in conrete or foundations. I am sure you can dump it for free in most areas, you just have to look harder.

we have several recyclers that let us dump clean concrete for free. smaller jobs just come home and get dumped into a large pile in the yard. then when the pile gets big enough i will run it to the recycler.
most concrete companies take it for free too, as long as it does not have rebar.

So now one puts scraps behind walls or in fill areas on jobsites? I am completly against burying garbage, but i see no proablem burying paver or wall craps if they are several feet below grade.

we also use scraps as backfill and sub-grade reinforcement.
