Hey guys - As we continue to tweak the site, we would like some feedback as to whether it works for you or not. After all, you guys are the reason this forum exists. So let us know what you think of it so far! Thanks.

Chris

P.S. Sorry to post this here, but it gets the most traffic.

I like how it opens to the new posts, that’s the first thing I click on anyway. What else was changed?

Well, the other things that have changed so far are really just site management capabilities. IE. Being able to add/subtract modules, sponsor banners, etc. we do have some other user type stuff planned, but right nowwe want to get some feedback on the existing model.

I haven't noticed a whole lot different from any other forum.... What keeps me interested in the quality of members and subject matter so far. That gets tougher to control as the membership grows. Nothing turns me off more than a bunch of scrubs thinking they are "better than". Some of that is just the internet ...its sometimes hard to get points across. If i ever come across in that way please let me know.
Now Ill tell you about another pet peeve of mine:)... When someone asks for information and a member takes the time to get it for them and then there is not so much as one reply after... Id much rather someone say "sorry thats not what i was looking for", or "I dont think that would suit our company"... anything is better than nothing. An example that happened to me here is the job description thread ... I had to copy and paste from an excel sheet and when pasted it was a mis-mash on the page... took the time and basically retyped it out ... not one response. Heck, if it is crappy i would rather someone give me some ideas of how to change it.:noidea:

You may want to consider a search tool. The members could search thread archives for keywords or phrases. That way the same subjects dont get rehashed time and time again.

I don't like the "stats" on the left hand margin. makes the rest to narrow.

"Ok this is for a Level A foreman ..."
Ouch, Kris if you are talking about this post on my thread, should have thanked you for the info. I took your description list and have been working on altering it to the specifications of a small company like mine. I planned on posting my revised version, but honestly I'm still working on it (its hard to get it on paper). Trust me NONE of the information shared on this site has gone unappreciated! :peace:

The one thing that has been difficult for me is, there is a lack of membership for my area. The hardscaping market is very different here compared to PA and NJ. ICP driveways are just beginning to be seen and accepted, but asphalt at $1.50 sq installed there isn’t much of an opportunity. Natural stone construction is a much more dominate material in this area.

ok, i'm getting pizzed.

the home page lists new posts.... not sure I like that... you're only one click away from that anyway. But what really irks me is that if a thread has say 3 pages, you have to go into the thread at page one. I want to be able to click on the little "3" and go to the last post..... not being able to go to the newest post kinda defeats the purpose.
