How are you guys keeping track of who visits your website? Do you monitor who and where the visitors come from, or what search words they are using to find your site?
How may guys manage your own website verses just having a company deal with it? You can still very much monitor your traffic even if you don’t manage your site.
Here is a free tool that will give you total control over understanding ‘what your website is doing for you’
https://www.google.com/analytics/settings/home
Screen shot 1 is the dashboard for Google Analytics. I recently updated my website, so google hasn’t crawled the site since the updated and there isn’t much info to share. For example from July 12th to the 14th, there were 5 unique visitors that explored 10 pages.
Looking at screen shot 2, you can see that my top 5 key words are our location, industry, and our masonry. My website has been manipulated in order for google to consider the words “landscape, design, stone” as the most relevant information in my site.
There are also ways to identify what keywords are most relevant to your website, and monitor your local ranking for those key words.
If everyone is already using this FREE tool, great. If not feel free to ask for help.
