Here's a pic of a set of natural stone steppers that we installed. I find we are using more and more of them every year. They really compliment the tumbled pavers we use.

I love the natural look. What did you use for base and how deep?

In this application, we used 3/4" clean as our base. There are several springs on the hill and the back is typically wet. We used a 6" pad initially then it jumped to about 10" stone to stone.

That looks great chris, we just bid a job for spring with about 35 steps.

How much do are you paying for each stone? (roughly)

I really like natural stone.... here is a few with tumbled pavers cut in.

I pay about $150 per ton (roughly) that usually equates to 2-3 nice stones.

this is a little off topic, but i was wondering how you got a decent base so close to those big trees. any problems? nice woodland path btw
