Cutting curves. I'm sure Rusk would get the gold, as the king (self proclaimed of course) of chop saw cutting.

I know right! I thought I was half way efficient at layin' block till I saw this guy. He's layin 12" block faster than I can lay 8"! Plus I don't think he got a single drop of mud on the ground.

Haha! I think we all think we are the best on the cut saw. That would make for a good challenge! Although I think I'd rather keep my body parts secure and tucked when operating with 14" of screaming steel and diamonds.

How bout fastest air filter and blade change on the demo saw?
How about a "throwing the closest object for distance" contest. :D Extra points for cussing. :pound: I know we all do it when something isn't working quite right!

Well, yeah, I know I'm the best, but it kills my back and I do VERY little of it now. Usually leave that job for one of the boys.

When it comes to throwing tools, I'll kick all your azzes. I'd rack up unbelievable bonus points as well for creative cussing.

oh, I'll take the gold please...
We had a customer last year -- by far the worst I have ever dealt with. She made a suggestion for her front walkway, and asked my opinion. Apparently I told her that would be great "If I wanted to come home and puke in my mouth every nite"
One of my guys said he couldn't believe I said that, I asked him what I said, and he told me. I didn't even remember saying it. I guess I was so distraught and frustrated with this lady, I just let it fly. By the time we were done, I let her know that working for her was the most difficult and stressful job we had ever done and no thank you, we are not interested in phase 2 next year.

Best fight between a husband and wife.
I had a doozy a few years ago.
Met with hubby 3 times over a month to finalize design/materials etc.
Wife would always be too "busy" to attend.
Show up on Monday to start. 15 ton of gravel shows up ...we start marking out....she comes out side and starts yelling "the gas grill aint going there"
hmm well why did your hubby and I have a plumber install a gas line their then. Hubby comes home and its on like donkey kong.
Fight went on for an hour.
I interject and she pulls out the "don't you know who I am"
She was on a pta or HOA.
We never returned.

How about dumbest favor asked by a homeowner... "Can you get my dishes out of the top cabinet. I need them for thanksgiving" Or "winter is coming, can you clean my garage so I can park my car in it?"
All this and much more on the grass joint job.

More events -
Digging bar javelin
Wall Block Shot Put
Screed Pole Vault
50 yard dash (carrying 12 pavers tucked under your chin)
Synchronized Screeding
Screed Board Balance Beam
Now all we need is some high paid sponsors and a communist country to host the event.

We had a paver Olympics after an ICPI class in taught in California.
some events:
guessing how much sand or aggregate was in each pile
guessing elevations of pins compared to a control pin set to 0
standing 20 feet away from a five gallon bucket and using a flat shovel tossing
5 times most weight in wins
Peace,
Rex

Definitely a milestone worth celebrating. What happens if member 1000 is one of those lonely guys from Pakistan?
Just kidding....let's think about this.
