What is most important to you when it comes to choosing and staying with a hardscaper supplier? Is it:
1. Price
2. Service
3. Range of products (wet/dry, tools, lighting, etc.)
4. Willingness to spend time with your customers
5. Design/calculation assistance
6. Knowledge of products sold/installation procedures
7. Referrals
8. Proximity to shop
List them in order of importance to you. The first being the most important and the last the least.

Only service really matters to me. Take care of me. Get me my order on time. Keep your trap shut about how much material Rusk is taking.
I deal with 1 supplier for pavers and srw. I deal with one supplier for aggregate. Natural stone all depends on what the people want. Current project has stone from a importor that normally just deals in inteior materials.
I think it would be hard to find one supplier to deal with for everything, that was actually a expert at everything.

Mike:
This is a great question (for us). As a supplier, input from the contractors is invaluable.
We exist only to service you guys, so I hope this thread really takes off.
Keep the info coming guys so we can help you.
3. 2, 1 for our paver , wall, and pond supplier ... not including any tools...don't buy from them .Once in a while number 5 for pond calculation. We Don't ever count on them for number 4 .
We also only deal with one supplier for aggregate. Service (2)is number 1 concern. He keeps our bin full and can deliver to a jobsite if necessary on a days notice.
Natural stone is more price(1). We get pretty good service but we order in semi loads at a time and keep a good inventory ourselves.
How about conveinence? The hardscape supplier that a company that I work for has their center right down the street from our yard.

Good one. I added it to the list.
Where does proximity fall on your list?

2,4,5 and 6 - I consider to be grouped together, and my first choice.
3 - I like one stop shopping, and wished my supplies carried more tools.
8 - I tend to favor the shop closest to me for those times when I need to pick up another 1/2 yard of material because someone got a little to excavation happy, or I just want to get a better idea of what a product looks like.
4 - generally everyone is within the same price zone, but it doesn't hurt to be the lower of the bunch.
5 - nice to have but someone has to come last
