repairing concrete walkway help please

one of my customers asked me to repair 2 small sections of her existing walkway (2'x3'). I plan on cutting out the cracked sections, digging down 4" putting the expansion joint material strips on the interior sides and placing frames on the exterior sides. lay in some rebar (or would grid be better) keeping it off the ground by 2", mix up some 4000psi bagged concrete and fill. screed with a 2x4 level with the existing walk and let set for a bit, then round the edges and lightly sweep with a broom. cover with plastic and let sit for 2-3 days before letting the customer walk on it.

does this sound correct? would you guys advise anything different?

You shouldn't have to dig at all if your replacing concrete, you should already be pulling out at least 4". Use #3 rebar and drill into the existing concrete so you can tie in the rebar. That way you won't have separation in the new sections.
