How do you guys feel about them? Is it something we should pursue this season? I think it's tough because most guys on here post pics of most of their jobs as they complete them, so doing a best paver patio contests results in a lot of redundant posting of pics. Any thoughts, or other ideas for contests?

Most Creative Design (doesn't matter if it is your customers design or just something you dreamed up in your head that you have always wanted. This will push people to try new ideas out on paper and see if anyone else has thought of it before.)
I would set parameters that state that it is the design ingiuity and not the way it was constructed that goes into the contest. I say that b/c some of us may feel overwhelmed by how good things can look when they are done by some others in scetchup vs. a 2d drawing that we may do.

How about a natural stone contest? The hardscape has to be over 50% natural stone work. It can include dry or wet laid work. Flat work or walls or steps. It can include boulders, waterfalls ponds etc... This might inspire more people to work with natural stone.

How about the best design solution for a hardscape problem. I mean how a tough situation is handled. We all could benefit from the ingenuity these pictures would show.

So it would be something along the lines of ?
Problem -
Solution -

I like that idea. One month down, 9 to go.

yeah Adam,
I was thinking of showing a before picture. A sketchup or cad solution. Then the final pics. In the event you didn't get the job, just a sketchup would do. the purpose would be to help us when we run into something unusual. A perfect example of something on here that helped me was one of Zedo's jobs when he had to build wall framework for a set of steps to go against because their was a bump out from the
