Just as a heads up, Blue Atlas Design is a company that I recently started.

I wanted to separate the 3D design work that I've been doing for other companies, from the design and build work I do for homeowners. This year I am really looking to diversify myself and expand upon my design abilities. While I'll still be doing some install work this year, I plan on using a lot more subs and having just a small crew operate in the field.

I am officially making myself available to primarily do 3D visualization work for you guys and your clients. If you feel you have a job that you need an extra edge to either beat out the competition, or to win over a client, and you think presenting them with a set of my 3D renders will get you the job, let me know. I did quite a few projects for other contractors last season, and I think in every situation, the contractor was able land the job, or at least increase his overall closing rate.

In addition to the 3D stuff, I am also offering a variety of other graphic design related services. My wife is going to be helping out with this end of things and she brings to the table a degree in graphic design and over 10 years experience in the field. We feel like we would be able to help guys in this field with the marketing stuff, because we've been in the business and understand how it works.

So, that's that. I'm not trying to write a sales pitch, just letting you know what I'm up to. We are working on getting a website together, but until we do, I wanted to put a flyer up on the site to link our banner to. I figured I should explain what it's all about.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Adam is this something that you have a fee schedule set up for? Or can you email/pm me the details.

Thank you

Kevin

Kevin,

What services were you wondering about? Any landscape or 3D design I do at an hourly rate. The graphic design stuff is set up more on a fee schedule, but will still vary depending on certain things.

We are able to have things like business cards and posts cards designed as well as printed for a really reasonable rate. We get good rates because of the volume of printing my wife has gotten done over the years.

I also wanted to let people know that I would be available for design consultation and Sketchup tutoring. I'm working on getting a web meeting account setup that would allow someone remote access to my desktop, so I can hold sketchup training sessions without the need for travel. I'm looking to put together a 10-15 person webinar to go over the basics of sketchup, as well as doing some one on one stuff that is more advanced.

I'll keep you posted. It should be soon.

Sure thing Matt. If only you gave business cards to every new employee you hire.....I'd never run out of work! LOL

Sounds very cool Adam. Good luck with the new venture, from the work I've seen you should do very well. I hope someday I can render designs like you man, you have a gift with that stuff. I'll keep working on it and maybe someday lol

Thanks GB! I truly enjoy doing it, so I figure it's worth a shot trying to make a living at it.

Adam, I would be interested in sketchup courses. I do have pro landscape that I need to also get better at.

I'll still be making tutorials if there is interest. I would like to start making even better tutorials actually. I would like to add audio instead of just type. This way would be more effective I think. Obviously I can't give all my secrets away though. :)

Cool, I'm definitely interested. I started to really work on my skills back in Dec. but once it started snowing every couple of days I've been tired. Need to get back into it again.
