I have a 02 Cat skid steer, I put my plow (8' sno-wolf)(new to me)on today, No problem with the 2 connectors. Took it off for a few hrs to run the bucket. Now I can not get the 2 hoses reconnected seem to be too much presser. I tryed with plow down,Running, not running, few hr break nothing.:noidea: have no valve like the backhoe to release the presser, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TRY NOW ??? Any Ideas ? Thanks

cut your key to the on position, dont crank the machine, cut the parking brake off and toggle your aux. switches on the joystick to release the pressure on the hoses

I used to have that problem with my backhoe attachment on my skidsteer. What I did was manually release the pressure by pushing with a screwdriver or blunt piece of steel against the ball bearing, not sure if you know what I mean but be carefull and maybe put a rag over it to protect your face from the hydraulic fluid. It will likely be under load. Kinda barbaric but as a last resort it worked.

First, I cracked the lines to the pistons,That worked slick. Then I tried your method , worked but not great I will keep trying different ways.

adding to what ncsu said. if you have someone thre with you, while the tractor is in the accessory position turn the handle to activate the hose that you are connecting. that opens the valve and allows any pressure to be pushed back into the pump. i used to just wiggle the stick, but found holding it in place while someone pushed the hose in worked much better.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

also, try my method before you un attach the implement, you need to release the line pressure each time, otherwise you will be in the same boat each time. If the quick connects are hard to push in or pull back, stop and release pressure first.

Sorry i did not clarify that in my post NCSU. I kinda figured that would be a given. We run a Deere 322 and even if you release the presure before you take the attachment off, you still have to "jiggle" to get it back on.
Happy New Years.

usually the CAT machines are real easy about attaching implements. After my dealer told me about this trick, ive not had anymore problems with pressure. Im not sur ehow the John Deeres are set up, but with the CAT there are 2 buttons ontop of the right joystick that run your auxillary lines, and you just have to switch the 2 real fast until you hear the solenoids click on the hydro system, then you know your pressure is released. Now lately i have been having problems with getting some of my buckets to hook back up because i had to change my quick connects on the machine due to the O-rings shredding for some reason, and now its hard to push the connectors together, could be solved with a little sandpaper on the connectors to get some burrs off.

That is it, doing as you said in your post worked fantastic. On and off several times with no problem at all.
