View Full Version : Wet Laid / Dry Laid
It seems as if most hardscapers are tending toward dry laid hardscapes nowadays for a variety of reasons. Does anyone insist on wet laid on all their jobs? I know that the company I work for prefers dry laid since the advent of poly sand and 90% of the jobs are dry laid.

I like dry laid for a couple of reasons....1) You don't need to dig your footer below the frost line because it is a flexible system. 2) No messy mortar to clean off the flatwork/wall.

All paver applications are dry laid in order for them to perform correctly, but in response to natural stone; I find most people don't want to pay for the wet lay.

We do both. Having been a dry laid specific contractor and now being able to offer both, I can definitely say I prefer being able to offer both wet laid and dry laid.
