say your doing 50 cluster homes .....driveways/small footpath and road.
which have you guys found quicker/easier
Skid steer or truck
If you use a skid steer and keep it on site ever have issues with it not starting due to the cold.....just thinking out loud.

Skid steer all the way. My pickup wont fit in some of those drives and I'm not shoveling by the garage on all of them. No issue starting in the cold, and it's diesel.

Just to clarify what attachment / brand do you guys use on the skid steer. Is it as easy as getting a box blade pusher ..pulling into drive and backdragging.

I plowed a big complex last winter. We ran my 246b, a 262b and a 296c, and two pick up trucks.
There was a mix of single family houses, carriage houses, and condos. Every drive was back dragged into the road. All the skids used regular buckets. If it snowed 2 inches we would still all get 10 hours of plow time in.

Same as what matt said only a smaller scale. We had 80 homes, each had it's own drive. The main roads where pretty large but most where one-ways, and each home had a walkway to be shoveled.
1 Dump with the blade, 1 pickup with blade, and 1 skid with normal bucket. I had the fisher plow attachment for the skid but never found a need for it. The normal bucket worked great. Bobcat S185. You wouldnt have been able to turn around while plowing in some of these drives with anything other than the standard bucket.

I didn’t really find myself back dragging at all, just pushing. I would pull into the drive on the left side, swing right in front of the garage, and exit with snow into the street. Repeat only entering from the right, then clean the middle with one pass.

Koot, we had a place like that a few years ago. We found the combination of skid+P/U to be most effective. We had the ring roads+driveways. P/U's did what they could and the skid steers followed behind to take care of the details.

Koot,
Look into the skidsteer plow that Blizzard makes. We have two blizzard plows on our trucks and are considering the skidsteer plow too for our New Holland.

I don't have any pictures but I do an 80 house cluster complex with two miles of road. On a 3-4" storm my buddy and I can do the whole place including wqalkways in about four hours. We have my f550 with a 9' straight blade ,3/4 ton with a blizzard 810 and a john Deere 250 skid with 9' blade. We backdrag all drives. The drives range from about 30' long by 25' wide to over 100'. The 9' blade on the skid workes great. We still have to shovel in front of the garage doors but the rest the skid gets.
