Anybody else been hearing this? I get atleast 2 calls a week with guys looking for work. I love it.

Companys are folding everywhere, and we are busier than ever.

As Vander Koi says, Now is the time to hire.

I have had to turn down two experienced guys in the last two weeks.

We actually picked up one top notch guy three weeks ago.

Everyone looks at the negative of a slow economy, but there is so much positive, you just gotta set up for it before it comes, so you can reep the rewards when its here.

It's good to hear you have the upper hand in VA. We haven't had any ppl call for employment, but I am aware that 3-4 reputable companies in our area laid off the majority of their crews and even foreman. And they've been offering incentives to sell jobs without dropping price (i.e. irrigation system included, plant size upgrades)

It's always important to stand firm on your pricing and sell them on the value. "Sure, we're expensive. But we offer the best value!" Being a professional, returning calls promptly, delivering on time, building relationships with customers... these are some actions that can set you apart.
