I'm just finishing up with this one. Everything was laid today, tomorrow will be cutting, soldier course, polymeric, cash pickup.
I'll have the guys start the excavation & base 5 houses down tomorrow. Its ~150sf Permacon Vendome in Danville Beige with a pair of stone steps.
These are pics as of last Friday.

Work looks good. You should of had a wider base on that garden wall though.
I am impressed that while you are still in high school you are able to get people to give you money to lay pavers and do hardscapes.
I did nothing while I was in HS besides work for builders.

Thanks! Its a good 20-24" wide, 12" deep. The front of the trench is filled in already in the pics.

It all started with a 950sf driveway + walkway w/ steps and its been all referals since then. I never advertise and I'm too busy. Doing super quality work and showing up on time really go a long way in contracting too.

good job, however i disagree with the width of the wall base for this job, with a wall that small, a wide base wouldnt be necessary and only about 6" deep would be plenty

6" base + most of a 6" block buried, not 12" gravel:BigSmile:

yea good lookin on the geotextile. NO ONE around here uses is.
I have to completely and utterly disagree on the "best shovel" comment. Theyre garbage. I broke 2 of them on my last job. shoulda paid less for the ash handle instead. theyre def homeowner shovels made to dig out a garden.

Easy there killer. I would agree that MOST around here DON"T use it, but some of us do. Every job we do includes geotex no matter what size.

I stand corrected and revise my statement. MOST around here dont even know what it is (including some distributors!!!) but a select few of us who take pride in our work do.

Haha yeah I wish! I think when we go out to the store, you come home with something a lot different than I do.
Awesome machines though! I think that is the ideal setup for a landscape company to do almost anything.

While I think Zedo has the right idea on the best shovel made, I do believe those rigid shovels are pretty good. nice serated cutting edge, and we haven't broke one yet (started getting them last year). It's nice being able to return those broken Craftsman, but it gets a little tiring bring them in all the time.

Goddamn best shovel BS!!! I snapped the damn thing today while dicking around at a buddy's house with his shed base!!!:yield:
Anyways, some final pics. I love how they planted right away instead of letting the soil settle first like I said:noidea:

Musclecarboy- If you need good shovels, get these. they run ya about $120 a piece but they are the best around (if you use a shovel when you should really be using a digging bar)

Alright Zedo, time to start a thread that illustrates your process for this pool I see. It looks similar to one we just did but the metal is throwing me off a bit. What do you say???
