Here are some pics of a dry laid irregular flagstone walkway we laid. This is how I prefer the joints.

Wow that’s long. Looks nice and natural with the joints. What size thickness flagging do you like to use?

We use 1.5" for dry lay applications.

Yes, screenings. Since the pics were taken, we have returned to sweep in polymer.
That looks great ..are you cutting every piece of flag? ..also ... did you install the lights?

Not every piece, but many of the pieces.
We did install the lights. The customer found them online. I believe the company that makes them is called Stoneage out of Canada. They are natural limestone boulders. Shipping wasn't cheap.

Very nice work. When you do a natural stone walkway like this, do you over lay the stone and cut them in place like we do with pavers? Also, do you an edge restraint, or just back fill with soil against the edges ?

Yes, we overlay and cut in place. No, we do not use edge restraint.
